The following is a letter sent to his staff by NYC MAG Members.
Dear Pooja,
We at the NYC Motorcycle Advocacy Group are saddened by the passing of Council Member White.
While we met with numerous Council Members since December of 2008, we certainly remember our personal conversations with CM White.
He was a gentleman with a terrific sense of humor. He always made us feel welcome and showed great interest in the issues we brought to the table.
We discussed everything from silly to the serious.
Attached is just one of the photos that we took together on January 6, 2010 after the highly attended Stated Meeting. A most enjoyable chat!!
Sincerely,
Mark Davis

September 11, 2011
To the FDNY Press Room Staff,
RE: Visit to FDNY's Ten House, Engine 10 & Ladder 10, at 124 Liberty Street, NY, NY. and film documentary.
On this day, September 11, 2011, I can not properly express my thoughts regarding the days events or the importance of carrying on in the wake of so many lives that were lost and forever changed.
As a retired Scottsville, NY firefighter, I have visited the Liberty St fire house several times on my own, with my mother and son, and with my fellow motorcycle club brothers some of whom are firefighters in Australia.
The inspiration to face any challenge is written on the walls of the house and seen in the faces of those that charge forward when the bell rings.
This week and next week, we are hosting several of our Australian Club Brothers and taking them around New York City. We will visit the Liberty Street Fire House and hope to add some of that visit to our club documentary so that those who can't travel to New York, can feel a connection to this Hollowed Ground.
I am asking for permission to film the visit and to add it to our private Satans Soldiers Club documentary and to a film that I hope to finish for the whole motorcycle community presently called, "Ryde With Pryde".
Click on link to view a trailer. http://vimeo.com/14217696.
Both documentaries are a small but professional and passionate production. We do not have a film crew, just a safisticated camera technician and myself.
There is a strong connection between firefighters and motorcyclist. We hope to document that through causal conversation and filming the house. We would need approximately 1-2 hours to film.
I am a NY State registered/licenced Security Guard and work through out city at several venues.
I am also a spokesperson for the Motorcycling Community at City Hall. See www.nycmag.org, NYC Motorcycle Advocacy Group, a local lobbying voice at City Hall. There are many photos of our NYC MAG Team working with Council Members.
I am also an AIM/NCOM Representative, Aid To Injured Motorcyclist/National Coalition of Motorcyclist(a National lobbying voice for motorcycling community). See www.aimncom.com.
I am also an accident scene investigator for several NY/NJ/CT/PA AIM offices.
Please call me with any questions at 201-925-2654.

Mark Davis

INVITE to the "STOP, QUESTION, AND FRISK" Seminar of 10-12-2010:
Controversial Issues in Contemporary Criminal Justice: NYPD's Stop and Frisk
Presented by the NYU Wagner Students for Criminal Justice Reform (SCJR).
In 2009, the NYPD stopped people in New York City more than 575,000 times. The NYPD asserts that its stop and frisk practices gather useful information for solving crimes and getting guns off the street. At the same time, nearly nine out of 10 people stopped were black or Latino. Only 12 percent of people stopped were arrested or received a summons, and police found guns in less than one percent of all stops.
In navigating the tension between safety and police-community relations, SCJR looks to researchers, reform advocates, and law enforcement practitioners to discuss questions such as:
. Why do proponents of stop and frisk support the policy and practice?
. Why do opponents of stop and frisk challenge the practice?
. What does the research show about the costs and benefits of this?
. What is the impact on communities affected by the practice?
. What are alternatives to the current policy and practice?

The email seen below addressed to K Bain went out to numerous Council Members and their staff. I want to share the letter with you. Please feel free to contact us at NYC MAG regarding any thoughts, concerns, or assistance that you may need in relation to Motorcycling and Transportation issues. We have been in contact with CM Vacca and Nivardo Lopez regarding the parking of motorcycles at Muni-Meters and throughout the city. We have several ideas that we would like to express at an Transportation Committee Oversight Hearing. I would be happy to discuss these ideas with you. Sincerely, Mark Davis SSMC BX NYC MAG AIM/NCOM 201-925-2654 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Davis NYC MAG Motorcycle Advocacy Group 60 East 42nd St. Suite 1448 New York, NY, 10165 K Bain Legislative/Budget Director CM Williams Office District 45 4517 Ave D Brooklyn, NY 11203 Dear K Bain, RE: Stop, Question, Frisk/NYCMAG, Motorcycle Advocacy Group. With much emotion, it was a pleasure talking to you regarding the unfortunate encounter with the NYPD that Council Member Williams experienced. We at NYC MAG, NYC Motorcycle Advocacy Group are concerned with the Stop, Question, and Frisk policy of the NYPD and the unconstitutional pullovers of motorcycle riders throughout the city and state of New York. Through the 4th Amendment, the people are protected from unreasonable search and seizure whether on a motorcycle, driving a car, or walking on the sidewalk. Several NYC MAG Members attended a seminar regarding the Stop, Question, and Frisk Policy. SEE BELOW for the invitation that has some interesting facts. We would like to see these police policies eliminated and through legislation deemed illegal. Breaking the law is NO excuse for enforcing the law! Here is a link to the NYPD Site regarding the policies statistics. I have not been able to open it on my computer. I will look for other sources. As promised, here is the link to our MRO, Motorcycle Rights Organization. |
